All things being equal...

Which would be the more intense trip: 3g potent cubensis plus proper dosage of syrian rue or a high as hell dose of same cubensis (say 9 or 10g)? A friend asked today, and i honestly didn't the answer... does rue just make the mushrooms more 'potent' (for lack of a better word, in other words, doesn't effect the quality of the tripl just the intensity) or does it alter the trip too?

If you take syrian rue with shrooms, it does make the dosage slightly more potent. And yes, I find that it does change the quality of the trip. Not in a bad way, but just different. There aren't as many visuals, and there is a more emotional aspect (reminiscent of E). Also, the trip feels more tame. The "weirdness" that is always present in a mushroom trip is less it seems (IMO). As for shear intensity, I'd go for 5g or so of cubes. You'll be far more blown away than mixing it with syrian rue.

Peachman, i would disagree with other answer. Friend has tried it and it Changes the quality of the trip immensly. Beyond words. trip has an entirely different quality, very nice. it extends a trip from 6 hours to 8-12 hours. yes, 10 hours is quite normal. Light and candle had an incredible soft glowing quality. The maoi is mild antidepressant as well, and this was confirmed to be true.(friend has mild depression,this was a strong mood elevator, with lingering effects) Diet must be maintained, so make sure you have some snacks/food that are acceptable. Friend was peaking for hours. very enjoyable,but strong as anything (dfepending on dose)play safe...peace

well I have NO experience with MAOI's, but I can safely say 9-10 grams will blow your mind away.. 5-6 grams can get out of control FUCK ive been knocked off my feet with 2.0 grams(literally, had to sit and talk to oozing mosss for a hour or so) I think I will try an maoi soon... peace and shroomyness to ya

Yeah, I knew about the diet thing.. thanks for the advice all...
I've done the massive 8g+ doses before... I was more interested in how (if at all) the trip was changed by the MAOI... hmm... decisions decisions... i really like the confusing, mind-blowingness of a straight mush dose... but the empathetic qualities of the MAOI sound very appealing too... hmm...

maois make the trip completely different.
i usually go for 12 hours (3g rue 5g shrooms)
with maois i get almost no visuals, just a few as it kicks in.
what i do get is an inner cosmic voyage where all kinds of shit goes down.
otherwise im about normal, walk around calmly, have a snack, then back to sitting down and shut my eyes...the fabric of reality splits and blood starts gushing in and things pretty much get loopier from there.
if you are into focusing your attention inwards i fully recommend using a maoi, if you like shrooming with friends and acting the goat, go the shrooms.
