I have been told that it can be done.
And it has been posted here I forget who and where.
But I have read that if you get MEA to hot it will carmelize and can result in poor mycelium growth.
So proceed with caution

hey azure, why dont you use a PC? it seems risky to make agar medium in microwave... unless you dont mind wasting media and washing petris and tubes again and again... hint, for wherever you make your medium (if your working with sclerotia) - H2O2.
once we were going out to travel and my mom didnt want a plant of hers to die.. so she picked up some cloth, moistened it, buried one end in the plants vase and the other in a water reservoir. the plant sucked the water through the cloth as need... i did something similar, but in smaller scale with shrooms and with success. the only pointer is that the reservoir needs to stay in a level below the shroom level, for it to suck it up. if you put it above, water will keep dropping and would flood your mycelia. pascal already knew that. get back with results whatever you try... good luck.
