This sounds like an advertisment for Paxil.
The association with body and beauty in relation to spirituality is mainly a superficial wall of Ego. Yes, you are quite right, many people find their own physical nature and self an impediment because they are so caught up in /it/. It is ego, the attachments of mind, the unwillingness to accept things as they are and understand their inherent perfection. Think of it this way: There is a person alive who is literally perfect - they have no flaw, not a blemish, not a slight asymmetry upon their face or body, their voice is just the right pitch and tone, their eyes are just the right mixture of blue and green, their hair is always nice and they are always content and happy. What is it that this person can never do?
This person can never GROW. Flaw is the potential for change and growth, and thusly, flaw is the very essence of /perfection/. Let me put that another way because I'm sure this seems contradictory. To exist in a state of literal perfection is to have 'no where to go', you could not become smarter, you could not become more handsome or beautiful...but existing in a state of literal imperfection is to exist at a point where you can do ALL of these things! When you are very 'flawed' you simply have a lot of potential to become whatever it is you want. You exist in a state of primordia where you can go in any direction. Once you reach perfection, where can you go? No where. You're dead, you're god.
We're all essentially perfect because we are all literally imperfect.

Beauty is often a reflection of the self. I'm not talking about magazine beauty (we all know thats just air brushing, right?) Ever notice that alot of really ugly guys get beautiful chics, and no its not 'cuz they're good in the sack. They have inner confidence and no matter what they physically look like, they radiate beauty and so a woman will veiw them as beautiful. I've met numerous women that I thought were absolutely gorgeous upon first seeing them, then once actually talking to them and gaining perspective on them, they all of a sudden seemed extremely ugly, because they are pretty empty inside.

Yeah, I totally agree. I consider myself good looking, pretty much cause every woman I have ever known has said i was (few guys to). But, the only person I ever fell in love with was, honestly, fat. She went away to alaska for a few years when i was like 16, when she came back she was a reck. She put on like 40 pounds, she was in horrible condition emotionally(she broke up with her boyfriend, fought really bad with her brother), and she was drinking alot more. But, I probably loved her even more when she came back last year. She has the most beautiful eyes, and is the most kind person I have ever met, period. Also, she knows who she is, a concept not many people can grasp.
If you feel ugly, its pretty much all inside of you. We all have physical imperfections, and fixing them makes you look cheap. If you get down on yourself all the time, its just gonna get worse.

That is a very interesting question, and I do think that appearance can affect you spiritually. I myself am a bit on the plump side but am still content with my appearance. I think this is because I exercise and eat as little chemically-altered artificial food as possible, so my body is working the way it should and that helps me to be emotionally balanced and have more energy, to feel good.
However..... I am currently living in a very skinny society, the Netherlands, where they wear VERY tight pants, and I have felt myself succumbing to the dominant view that tall and thin is better and as a result I can end up feeling bad about myself like I never used to. In America, there is always someone fatter than me but here I am often on my own. People here act like being a little overweight is tatamount to a major character flaw. This has to do with the fact that control and moderation are central tenets of the Dutch value system, and as they understand it, obesity is all about overindulgence and a lack of control. They have all of these tabloid TV shows here that are called simply "Fat!" and another one called "Big Diet" where a bunch of fat people are trapped in a house-a-la-Big Brother, and of course they are on a diet and crying all the time. The point of this is, that I have gotten convinced that Dutch people hate fat! and this has affected me negatively at times, making me feel self-conscious or like I am being pre-judged by my appearance. As a result, it took me two years of living here before I had any real Dutch friends, so in essence my insecurities about my appearance held me back from assimilating into a culture that I admire in many respects. The thing is--I am not that big, I am really quite an acceptable size, but I am just different from the people around me, and that made me feel more awkward than I needed to. I guess it is the combination of being a foreigner and being "physically different" that I allowed to hold me back. A very wise friend of mine one said "No one can hurt you unless you hurt yourself first" and I have tried to take it to heart and I think it has helped me. When you are always apologizing for yourself, then people see you as someone who is wrong.

Facial Features are based on what experiences one has had. Many have unique faces because of their varied and different experiences. Once we have all experienced the same thing at one time or another, we will all pretty much look the same. Dont worry though that wont be until a high overtone of the 5th density.
