to answer a few questions concerning woodloving species on pinewood or cones or bark..
australiana, beocystis and cyanescens are doing fine on this substrates, but as they contain much resin it is necessary to age the chips/bark or boil the resin of (hours!!!!)...here an example of mature pinecones that were boiled, sterilizeds and inoculated liquid....colonisation took less than 4 weeks!

now 1/2 a year later i found some of the cones making real networks in the surrounding soil and chips....

Hey Bio - how tenacious have you found Australiana to be?? My substrate of alder mixed with (bad idea) wet verm took ages to colonise, but i now cannot seperate the bits of wood from the verm without literally yanking it!! Strong little bastard...Do you have any pics of Australiana fruiting??

gday mate!,....everything seems to be cool downunder

im pretty shure that these are psi. aussie....they look quite potent....im still in the stage of spawn....i made a big filterbag with hardwoodchips/bran mix.
the mycelium is a bit slow compared to other woodlovers...i have cyanes plopping indoors again....did ya see the pics?
