seal a hose into the output or a fitting that youve sealed to the output. post a pic of your model and we'll tell you some possible ideas for your situation.

This is a Martha Stewert closet and hose set up.

in the box


I use the ultrasonic and cool mist. Very firm believer in air exchange.

In the exectrical Dept of the hardware store I find these. and on the ultrasonic Now on the back of the closet I cut the holes for the hose fittings and put tape over them and cut holes threw the tape for the fittings. The reason for the tape is to give the clostet plastic a little extra strength when holding the hose weight. The outlet for the ultrasonic goes above the cool mist outlet that way the mist from the ultrasonic drops into the airstream of the cool mist and mixes better.

I bought a hot-humidifier, it boils water and steams it out... it comes out at around 150 F, but I figure after 2 ft. of hose it will be cool enough to push into my terarium... but of course I would test this before putting it into practice.

should I even bother trying to remove the heating element, or just go back and buy a cool-mist? I was at walmart, and the only cool-mist humidifer that wasn't 150$ had a larrge emission port, no easy way to mod that.

I can't find my old model, and the motor has died after 6 years...

I've had a lot of experience rigging up humidifiers for my snake. I bought a humidifier at Wal-mart for about 25 bucks, and walked over to Lowes and and dorked around their plumbing department for a while. I was able to find a 2" restricter valve, and some 1" tubing that fit really snug into the "adjustable" opening on the top of the humidifier. I really wish I could find the make/model, but many ultrasonic humidifiers will have some sort of "vent" in the top that allows you to control the amount of vapor leaving the machine. This usually can be removed with some ease. This would allow your humidifier to go full balls. replace that vent with a restricter (turns a 2" hole into a 1" hole), hot glue it, and shove some rubber hose in there, and there ya go! The tubing can also be found at Lowes and you can buy it by the foot. It looks like really big aquarium tubing.

How you rig / adapt any ultrasonic humidifier, or impeller type coolmist would depend on the name brand, make & model.

Of which - there are hundreds.

So, it depends on which you have.

PVC fittings & hose is the norm.

i use a single hose... to do my whole terrarium

caulk up the factory holes and make your own with a fitting.



Then place plexyglass on each side of martha... to hold hose weight (thanks to hippichick)

I use brass connectors, so that all moisture is pointing up, and any dripage will fall back into cool mist, to conserve water.



Then you get this..... humidity doesn't flucuate from tier, to tier much



Ps. This light is usually on top..... but fell down.......oops........../\

i seen a ultra sonic my friend had that ya could shove a vitamin bottle in the hole. wich he put a hole in the side of the vitamin bottle and a gromet.
