Here are a few quotes i liked from the book i read the other day.

"The only thing that stands between a person and what they want in life is the will to try it and the faith to believe it possible"
-Rich Devos

"Many things will catch your eye, but only a few will catch your heart...pursue those."

"May it be said that when the sun sets on your life, You made a differnce"

"the creation of a thousand forests is in one acorn"
-Ralph Waldo Emerson

"Sometimes in the winds of change we find our true direction."

"keep your face in the sunshine, and you will not see the shadows"
-Helen Keller

"procrastination is opportunity's natural assassin"

"by facing our challenges we discover our potential"

"To get what you've never had, You must do what you've never done." (my fav one)

"the greatest gift you can give another is the purity of your attention"

"a hundred years from now, it will not matter what my bank account was, the sort of house of house i lived it, or the kind of car i drove... But the world may be differnt becasue i was important in the life of a child"

"the main thing is to keep the main thing, the main thing."

"excellence is not an act, it is a habit."
-Aristotle

"Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence.
Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent.
Genius will not; Unrewarded genius is almost a proverd.
Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts.
Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent"
-Calvin Coolidge

"its easier to go down then mountaion than up, but the view from the top is best."

LethalX5,

those are some nice quotes; words to live by.

is there a spelling error in your sig? should it be ...if you're causing no harm... instead of "to" harm. no harm's better, it seems to me.

thanks in advance.

I find it hard to believe that a girl who was both deaf and blind ever learned to speak a single word, let alone formulate profound quotes.

Dude, how could that happen if she could never see and hear? I think the whole story was very heavily exaggerated.

I like them all especially this one and the one in your sig.

Here's a few I have posted on my office tackboard.

"Oppurtunity is missed by most because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work." - Thomas Edison

"It's hard to lead a cavalry charge if you think you look funny on a horse." - Adlai Stevenson

"He who smiles rather than rages is always the stronger." - Japanese proverb

She could still fucking communicate, she wasn't mentally retarded. My mom teaches visually impaired, and she's seen students like that.

How did she know what a word was if she was deaf? You couldn't show her or tell her.
