In essence, your body knows better than the experts how much salt it needs--and telling someone to restrict their salt intake is akin to telling someone to restrict their water intake when they are thirsty. It just makes no biological sense.

The salt fix -- James DiNicolantonio -- Doctor of pharmacy and cardiovascular research scientist

For most of the normies out there, an operating system is just a bootloader for Google Chrome.

Sorry, it wasnt my intent to imply that. It just seems based on recent posts that you have become more focused on leaving a positive mark on the world over time. I was just trying to be encouraging

I wasn't phased by that, but yes, as I approach 50, I have the developmental choice to either drown in greed and bitterness or put sincere effort into the world I'm leaving behind.

I'm at the age I would be called to partake in the council of elders of my tribe, if I lived tribally.

Quote:

Cognitive characteristics [of Middle Age, 45-65yo]

Erik Erikson refers to this period of adulthood as the generativity-versus-stagnation this is the seventh out of eight stages of Erik Erikson stages. Persons in middle adulthood or middle age may have some cognitive loss. This loss usually remains unnoticeable because life experiences and strategies are developed to compensate for any decrease in mental abilities.[10]

During this stage, we can see that adults strive to have things that will outlast them. When we are talking about this stage, the generativity means that one is making ones mark. This is where one is trying to make the world a better place.

Key characteristics of generativity:

    Mentoring others
    To develop relationships with family
    Contributing to the next generation

Then we can see that stagnation means a failure to find a way to contribute. When people are in this part of the stage we can see that people can feel disconnected from the community and society.

Key characteristics of stagnation:

    No improvement of oneself
    Placing themselves above everything
    Being self-centered

There when we can understand how to increase our generativity and make sure that we are not using stagnation we can become better and be more connected in cognitive ways.[14]

Ah yes, very familiar with ol erikson. I would say you are setting yourself up to avoid the despair side of the final stage of the spectrum

Believe it not, medical record software auto populates the erikson stage for each of your patients... i guess to help you provide better care based on that info? Idk it just always felt a little out of place in a list of objective biometrics

Successful adjustment to Middle Age

Yeah I want to become a happy old generous guy people go out of their way to visit, not a despairing miser that people go out of their way to avoid.

Yo I was gonna say classification is for insects not humans. That just sounds like personality traits to me, not some shit you can just choose.

in the last month I tried to pick up two different cbt books off of Amazon, and both got canceled, the first one I got a refund with no notice, and the second one, they emailed me and said that the book deteriorated in the warehouse, and it was their only copy and said I have to pick a different book or get a refund

I was thinking of taking a module course so I'd have a diploma. Its a somewhat different approach to Coaching, but it too, tends to be effective fast.
