Hello shroomers,

Well the other day i came home to a mushroom on the table & i saw it and identified it before i even got the closer inspection to comfirm it a Panaeolus castaneifolius.

~It was annie who found it. , what a gal. :)

She found only one in someones lawn on a morning walk and said its shiny cap popping up out of the lawn caught her eye. So she then delicately transported the single specimen home for me to see.

Found in November??
-I was excited, because i had only found them in the month of March before.

Well here is the pic of this one "rouge" shroom.

Yes that is one single specimen of Panaeolus castaneifolius.

The girl who found it reported to me that after finding the mushroom she felt "all sparkly" - - yups thats the pan caster mushroom.

+++The continueing search for more Pan. casts.+++

Well yesterday i took a look around the neighborhood lawns that i had scored the most pan casters last March, and came back with 0 (zero) of them.

I did however find two (2) Panaeolus campanulatus.. a species of which grows mainly (if only) from Dungg.
--This now proves that there really is Dung under that grass (Just as i had suspected).

+Plus, i have found Pan casters two (2) March's ago, in a cow field, not growing directly from dung, but only tall grassy area underneath a tree. I found around 3 dozen or maybe 60 specimens that day and never found them there again, or in any other cow fields for that matter.

Anyways, here is Panaeolus campanulatus (In-active mushroom);
