    #603551 - 04/09/02 05:20 PM (21 years, 11 months ago)

Well.. I just got home from my 2 week vacation to Switzerland. I had a nice supprise when I got back. I went in the backyard to check my patch of Pans... and its ALIVE! Again! Word!...
All I found were some overly mature pans that are past identification, but I'm sure they're pans. Heres pics:

Peace out,
-Gumby

They could grow in the middle of the grass but its not that common. These were growing in a grass compost pile, where we dump all the grass clippings. You can probaly find Pan Subb. up there within the next 2 weeks, just now starting to get warm enough. Look around horse pastures and cow pastures, and bales of hay... that'd be your best bet for the subbs. You may want to do some additional reading on them.

Peace out,
-Gumby

Hey Gumby,Is that stem on the far right in your picture there bruised blue or is that just a large bruised, dark place from handling?I know this is an old old old very old post but I was just wondering about the way that Pan Subbs bruised,I was wondering if they ever bruise that intense or not.Can a mushroom have a large amount of Psilocin or Psilcybin in it and not bruise at all when damaged?

A general rule of thumb is that Pan subbs wont bruise blue. The one on the right was dried out when I found it, but I don't think it's darker there because of presense of psilocybin. Most mushrooms that contain a signifigant ammount of pslilcybin/cin will bruise blue(all mushrooms that bruise blue don't contain psilocybin, mind you), pan subbs are very weak, so there is very little to no brusing with these guys.
