poll: what is the best/fastest growing cactus soil/soiless mix?

currently i am using topsoil mixed with sand and just a tad bit of perlite. the growth is medium though i'm sure there are better soil mixes... i read various recipes for soil mix and wondered what is the best one? as perlite and vermiculite can add up quite quickly when dealing with numerous cacti...some places say use sand, some say not to...
ideas?

For trichocereus cacti, a commonly used mixture (invented by Nan at the Nook) is equal parts of small limestone chippings, topsoil and compost. It's in the Nook archives, as well as a lot of other good cactus stuff... Dolomite lime is also meant to be a good thing to add, because it is high in magnesium.

For Pedros? Use a rich soil as they are resistant to rot. Say 50% potting soil, 35% compost,15% sand. For Peyote use standard cactus mix...sand/dirt 50/50.
