is there any test to tell if you over "cooked"(sterializing) a jar before you inject the spores???

i don't think you can over cook your jars. i believe the only things that could happen would be if ur using a pc and let the pressure out quickly the water will boil out of your substrate and it will be ruined or water could seep in and ruin it.

You're not supposed to let the pressure out quickly? I always just threw the release valve when they were done

Im not shure but the mycellium has to live off a "host" that has nutrients and by over cooking it would you lose some of the nutrients and therfore making your shrooms less potent. because the more nutrients the more potent. so I would just do it untill I made sure the jars were steril.

if your boiling it i don't think it matters if you let the water out fast.
