Extracted DMT as ayahuasca

I did an alcohol extraction (not a/b) on some mimosa hostilis and got this funny looking brown junk. i reduced its mass by almost half with a single naptha wash so my guess is that the majority is tannins...

anyway! the junk keeps getting more crystally every time i wash it but it will never be clean enough to smoke correctly. would it work if i gel capped it and took it with an maoi? or should i just save it and put it in my pan cyans?

Have you tried recrystallization or have you just been washing it?

if your getting HCL crystals, which i doubt you are, as even shuglin had a hard time aquiring them, you couldnt smoke them anyways. DMT is only active smoked in its freebase form. You could simply be getting sugars from the bark, or who knows what else.

tell us, do these crystals smelled like new plastic?

DMT is active as a HCl salt.  You get a little more residue when you smoke it, though.  But that's okay, because then you have a few more hits left in your bulb when you run out. :grin:

I sincerely doubt that Shulgin had a hard time getting DMT crystals...

i said he had a hard time getting DMT crystals in their HCl form, and no, DMT in its HCl form is not active when smoked.

ya im not really smelling the plastico positivo signature of dmt. i think puppet might be right about bark sugars or maybe miscellaneous alkaloids that came out in the alcohol washes.

i think ill drop a little of 'solution x' into some mycelium and see what it does.

just curious tho, could you explain the recrystal process to me with some sort of detail?

you mix your crystals into some NP solvent (just enough to cover crystals, heat the solution being careful to keep it from combusting, swirl, pour into seperate beaker, place in the freezer and the crystals will precipiate on the side of the glass. you pour the excess solvent out and collect the crystals.
