Pink Floyd Reunion

As "Rock Star: INXS" contestant Marty Kasey kicked butt last week with his rendition of ?Wish You Were Here,? (he?s still my favorite to win the job of lead singer for INXS), intel from my sources within rock 'n' roll circles is that Pink Floyd (search), including lead singer Roger Waters, may be coming to the U.S. for a reunion concert tour.

This news is sure to set Floyd fans in a frenzy of anticipation. It?s been years since ?The Wall? group performed together, and a reunion concert tour will surely challenge The Rolling Stones' dominance in the classic rock arenas.

Stay tuned.

It's been months. Two, specifically, since they performed together.

All of the members played together at an event where people watched, cheered and looked at a stage. Thats a concert to me.

Yeah a lot of it wasn't as good as it could have been. There was a LOT of energy in the crowd though.

Too bad Africa fell off the political map for the most part just a month or two after Live8/G8.

Pink Floyd: No to ?136m tour offer
5 Sep 2005
The band end speculation about reforming.

Pink Floyd's Roger Waters has revealed what many fans were hoping not to hear; that the band are unlikely to reform for a tour - not even for a mega pay day of ?136m ($250m).

Speaking for the first time since his memorable Live 8 appearance -- reforming the original line up with Dave Gilmour and co for the first time since 1981 - Waters revealed he was optimistic at best.

"I hope we do it again. If some other opportunity arose, I could even imagine us doing Dark Side of the Moon again," he said. "You know, if there was a special occasion. It would be good to hear it again."

In the interview, published this Thursday, Waters also revealed he "really loved" performing with his former band mates, but turned down the massive offer - which reportedly came around the time of their Live 8 appearance.

Yep, Roger said to Rolling Stone:

Quote:

"I don't really need it," he says. "It would be a very hot ticket. That said, I didn't mind rolling over for one day, but I couldn't roll over for a whole fucking tour."

Interview
A shame, really.

I wish they would tour, charge exorbitantly high prices for tickets and merchandise and then donate 100% of the profits to maps.org and NORML.

I just wish they'd tour. It'd be a lifetime concert fer shure :yesnod:

Funny thing, the day they played for the live8 I just had arrived home and was showering myself while a friend and my g/f were on the living room, and I heard the starting pulses from the bathroom and got out mid-showered and naked to sit on my sofa and put the volume at max, while my friend was staring at me like "this mofo has gone CRAZY finally!" Luckily for him my g/f brought me my pnats eventually.
True story :geordinod:
