meh.
I actualy didn't like floyd the first time i heard them either. I went out and got DSOTM because of all the hype, put it on, and I couldnt understand what the fuss was all about.
Then one time i was chilling, and decided to give it a second chance. Ka-pow, it hit me just how cool that album was. It was the same with Animals, and Wish you were here also. They GROW on you.
DSOTM and Animals ties the #1 spot for me.

I was listening to Obscurred by Clouds earlier today. It's a good recordm but not their best either haha. Free Four, Wots....Uh The Deal, The Gold It's In The...and Burning Bridges are awesome songs.

one of these days; a pillow of winds; fearless; echoes*
was the soundtrack to one of my first and best tripping experiences. i peaked at echoes. it was perfect.
everytime i hear it now it takes me back to that moment
and gives me that warm, happy feeling..

Dark Side was the album I wanted to listen to when I first tripped and I did. I have such a new "relationship" with it now, since that expirience. It is the greatest rock album of all time. My favorite Floyd song is by far is Shine On. Every time the first guitar solo plays those first 4 notes, it send chills down my back. I listen to it on iTunes straight through, parts 1-9. Wish you were here is a close second to Dark Side. Thanks for the poll!
PS I would pay anything and give anything to see Pink Floyd play Shine On, Wish You were here, Comfortably Numb, and Time live. ANYTHING!

I had the good fortune to see Pink Floyd live on the Dark Side of the Moon tour at the Autostadt in Montreal in 1973, then to catch them (again in Montreal each time) for the Wish You Were Here tour, the Animals tour, and The Wall tour.
My wife was part of the pyrotechnic team for the monster The Wall concert in Berlin after the Berlin wall came down -- the one which featured guest artists as diverse as Cyndi Lauper and Joni Mitchell. That was years before I met her, though. I had already been living here in the Dominican Republic for several years by then so my concert going days had ended.
All the shows were great, but Dark Side of the Moon was the winner. Same with the albums -- I can't imagine limiting myself to just one single Pink Floyd album, but if I had a gun jammed to my head and was forced to pick just one, it would be Dark Side of the Moon.

I really like Momentary. It was after the breakup and mostly Gilmour, but it's still great. You can definately hear his influence in the overall Pink Floyd sound. Terminal Frost is great for relaxing.

The best music in my opinion isn't music you like right away. You need to listen to it a couple times...Music you like right away is called "pop", and it sucks.
My favorite albums were ones that I listened to and were like "I dunno if I like that yet, but there's something new and unique about it..." After a couple more times, I really liked it. And by the tenth time it's awesome. Songs you like right away are like every other song you've heard.

Awesome picture man. I heard something about them tearing down that power station, but then I seem to recall hearing that they weren't going to. I hope that they never tear it down. It's a landmark.
