my pink floyd/gilmour expierance. (long)

Well... i just got back from Gilmore's visit to LA's Kodak theater. I went alone. And before i begin my tale.. let me tell you.. this was the most intense..deep... and meaning full musical experience I have ever had.
It all started from me getting a single ticket on ebay. Months past.. and finally.. it came. The day I would see Pink Floyd.
I get there.. and wait a few short hours listening to homeless young guys play music. Soon.. they let us in. After some delay.. I entered a cavern full of mist.
There.. palms sweaty.. Sober as sober can be.. i sat and waited. There was a really cool young couple next to me who I past the time talking with.
Then it happened. Everything went dark. All I heard was the heavy bassed heart beat... that we are all so familiar with. All I saw was the joints being lite. Then out of the chaos.. breathe. all the stage lights flipped on. Gilmore was just jammin out..along with the rest of the band.
Soon breath came to a close.. and the sound of clocks rang through out the huge auditorium. TIme was amazing. The bass player was really awesome to watch.
After time.. I felt myself being really sucked into the concert. David announced he would play through his new album then take a short break.
It started.. and 2 guys come running on stage. Neil young and GRAHAM Nash. The crowd was in an uproar. They played through the first few songs with so much precision.
Until.. one of my favorite songs of that concert was played (not normally my favorite song.)
Take a breath. O my god. It was out of control. I could help but smile the whole time. The energy in the song was amazing. The energy from that one track just consumed us all.
The rest of his tracks where so fucking awesome. Didn't get bored with it at all. He thanked everyone and we all had a short break.
soon the lights dimmed again. A syth took over. It was shine on you crazy diamond. The lights in this venue could easily compair to the pulse tour (if you have seen that VHS) Lighting was just amazing. He then played a few tracks from Davidson bell. (not a huge fan of that CD.. but they played them very well)
David then grabbed his acoustic. Fat old son was my 2nd favorite of the whole concert. It started with just him and his guitar. He played it sooooo well. I was lost in his music. I was no longer in a concert.. I was somewhere else. The band came in and slowly.. the energy just built and built. There was no stopping it. Those guys looked like they where having a blast up there. Everyone was clapping.. It was fantastic.
Then something happen.. even I wasn't ready for. It was that really low octave of a grand piano.. and as soon as Richard hit that key.. everyone knew what journey we where gonna embark on. ECHOES.
Everything was dark. Just wright playing. Everyone got quite and slipped into that mind set.. Then Gilmour joined in. Then the drummer joined in.
when the words flowed from the stage. Thats when I knew.. this concert is more then just a concert. It was an experience that I needed to have.
The lights danced away as they jammed out before the next set of lyrics came. Then it came. That point where its just JAM mode. Oh fuck.. they had us by the balls. And wright was using his B4 soooo well. Just hitting every key he could.. the gilmour returning the favor with some sick guitar licks. This battle went on for some time.. until they very slowly started to fade away. the lights dimmed with them. Soon darkness and nothing.
Lighting rumbling on the floor Crows... and wind. Then the screeching guitar started. After that.. it was about 3-5min of the most insane light/laser show I have ever seen. Just udder chaos. Jesus Christ.. they raped everyones mind.. through and through.
Then.. wright decided to end then chaos with a chord from his B4. The drummer slowly came in with his ride/cymbals. David started his guitar. It was the most awesome.. incredible build up ever. It kept going... i didn't know when it would explode in our faces.
It then happened. The energy hit some sort of peak.. all the lights flipped off.. And THE MOST insane lasers stared shooting around the auditorium. They where shooting in all directions. And in perfect sync with the music.
Then it all stooped for that last set of lyrics. Beautiful. good god.. I couldn't believe i what I had just gone through.
There are moments that can change a man.. and that was one of them.
They ended this night with wish you where here, a CSNY song, and Comfortably numb.
I was on no drugs the whole time... but i was brought to a place that surpassed being high on a drug. Ive looked up to pink Floyd for a long time. I find alot of inspiration from them when I write music... and to see it played in front of me like they did.. . well.. you cant put it into words. All I'm going to say is it was the most imported musical experience i have ever had.
Thank you for reading.

The tour is pretty much over. It's highly likely though that he is going to do a more in depth tour of the states this summer. Roger Waters shows are likely for fall this year.
I saw this Gilmour show. It was my first time seeing him. It was awesome, but not as cool as seeing Roger Waters, but what is? Roger is like god in human form to me.

Cool, really cool. Wasn't take a breath breath-taking? Best rocker song in the show IMHO.
But you lucky guys got to see Fat Old Sun with aweseome electric solo, and as much as I love WUTD I prefer FOS
Did Gilmour play the Echoes rundown in your show? Looks like he does it in some and not in others, I wonder why, it's easy to play
