You're trying to equate that to a natural event--that very few people could predict, and even further, that anyone could state its outcome on New Orleans [A geographical oddity].

That's a horrible analogy, dude.  You're talking about war, which the American defense secretary knew was coming for months...and then a response to hurricane that created an unholy mess in New Orleans that might have been predicted, but certainly was not foreseen in its totality of impact.

your point is invalid.  the point of this post is regards to the economic and financial response to the crisis.  as you can see I pointed out that they wanted to use 10.5 billion (which is an odd number in itself) to help others.  keep in mind that this country is trillions of dollars in debt BECAUSE of the wars such as the one in iraq. 

the idea here is that we are the richest country in the world (supposedly), and yet 200,000 people in that state ALONE live BELOW poverty level common only to developing countries.  what I am trying to imply is that we COULD have used money for help in times of crisis. 

common man, we all know that unexpected things CAN happen, and yet we OVER EXHAUSTED our funds for a war instead of taking care of things at home.  Sure this was unexpected, but with all this money on homeland security, don't you think that getting food and water for these people is the least they can do with US tax payer's dollars?
