c02 exchange Quick!

In the mmgg it say "First, a small hole needs to be placed in the Basic Growing Chamber to let water and CO2 escape. It should be at the very
bottom of the cooler. It needs to be big enough that water will not bead up and plug it. 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch is good. " I have a big glass tank I want to use and I need the hole cut by a professional. its gonna cost me 25 bucks. but the problem is the smallest hole they can drill is 1 inch in diameter. Is that really too big. the tank is four feet long its pretty big. Is there an alternative to putting this hole in? Does it have to be all the way on the bottom or above my wire mesh? where should I put it? If i need to get this done I want to do it tomorrow so I would appreciate if you could answer quickly. Thanks.

I say put the 1" hole on side towards the bottom and plugit with a stopper or even just a filter disk.
you could put it at the bottom but the stopper might get in the way.
better yet use a plastic terrarium. and make the tank in to a glove box.

I can't get a plastic tank. I wanna know if the hole will be fine and if I can do something so I don't need to make it.

Ya, can think of a few different things you can do,
If you decide to make the hole at the bottom, maybe cover it with a screen then place whole terrarium over a sallow tub to catch the water.
Maybe also run a hose from a fish tank bubler though some H2O2 and then into the terrium.
or you could get a cool mist humidifier or just do a lot of manual faning, 4 times a day i think is recomeded.
the list of teks goes on and on,
lookin the grow find section and read teks.
also do a search in this forum, keywords like perlite cool mist buble ect.
the adaptions and setups goes on and on.

get the hole drilled 1 inch. the break a cd case, take part of the plastic and crazy glue or rubber cement it over the hole. now drill whatever frucken size hole you want through the plastic. easiest thing i can think of... other than using a plastic terrarium.
peace

before you get it drilled at the very bottom, I'd reconsider the following...

are you gonna use perlite to humidify? if so, make sure you drill about 1.75 inches from the bottom. do you need it done RIGHT away? cause if not, chill, read some more (besides the mmgg!!) cause if you go too gung ho in the beggining, you are gonna regret it in someway probably...

If your useing perlite then to hell with a drainage hole. And yes, read something besides the mmgg.

The hole should be right above your mesh. You can buy a drill bit for glass. Cheaper than $25.

yes, you can buy drill bits with industrial grade diamonds in em for like 5$. i remember goin waaay gung ho with my marijuana grow operation before i knew anything about it.. i waisted over 100$ that i really coulda used to buy other stuff. like more lights, but anyways, my point is that even though its exciting when you hear about somethin like growin shrooms and yur all hyped up and you want to do it now now now, without the proper knowledge and without the proper equipment, yur gonna waiste money, yur gonna waiste time, but you will still learn a little in the process. good luck. im still learnin too.
