To much gas exchange?

I've always read that if you use an air pump, you'd need to fan becuase it wouldn't provide enough gas exchange... Well, what if this air pump pumped in the same volume of air as the container, into the container every 3 and a half minutes, wouldn't this be to much gas airflow? Just wondering if I found a discrepancy.

I run my vicks 24 /7, as long as you pump humid air in, not dry air.. should be fine.

The reason for fanning is , if you do not have a place for c02 to escape you must aide it buy fanning it out , so pumping fresh air in all the time will not do it , c02 stays trapped at the bottoms of grow chamber , unless hole is cut in bottom and filtered , it stays trapped in there . Once you have pins , there is no such thing as to much air exchange (with exception of humidity droppping ) , the less c02 in tank the better for the mushies and pin sets . I hope this makes sense to you ? Good Luck

a fruiting chamber i am familiar with is an upside-down rubbermaid so the air can escape from the bottom. automated air exchange works great. the fungi do want some CO2 for optimum growth so 24/7 may be a little overkill there. but imho, the primary issue would be humidity. can you keep it humid enough running 24/7?

Humidity stays at 100 % ( yes i know casings should be around 85 - 90 )
But with all the air exchange going on,,,, works like a charm!!

Primordia are very sensitive to high c02 levels . Now when it comes to mycelium developing yes a slightly 2000 ppm c02 level is good , but when mushies start to develop they neeed the fresh air exchanges . I use a tropic aire humidifier/air exchanger 24\7 in 2, 10 gallon fish tanks(soon to be one 50 gal tank) with a lexan lid , there are no holes in bottom of tanks ... yet , so I must fan several times a day to keep c02 levels in check . I notice the more I fan the less aborts I get .

I never get abhorts what so ever.
When i pick a flush, i remove any remaining pins, not abhorted, but i've noticed that if you do a pic/ harvest, remaining pins slow way down, and covering them with casing material is not a good idea.. so i remove everything over a 24 hr period.

God do not let ANNO see you spell abhorts aborts , whatever , he will bust at the seams .LOL ! Interesting ....picking "all" seems to reduce straglers huh ? Will have to mess with that one . Cousin IT also keeps humidity too high , due to lack of timed control . But the fanning as much as humanly possible seemed to help with true aborts . Iassumed mostly due to 100% RH , and c02 build up .

Abhort... dearly noted. won't happen again.
But i never get aborts.. hahahahahahhahaah ( well sometimes... but very rare )
I leave the door flap semi open, the air pushes out of the door so nothing creeps in.
What are signs of too much C02? tiny heads, twisty stems?????? I have none of this.
Yeah, slow-pokes suck.
100 % humidity is ok for me as i don't have to mist my casing layers.. i just move them close to the incoming air for a day or so, then move them away. problem solved.
