I personally have never had the need for an air pump. Just fan out your growing chamber in the morning and in the evening. I just cover a perlite filled aquarium with saran wrap, mist when needed and have always had success. Just a thought. Good luck.

You can hang it by it's power cord, or, set it on some foam rubber.

yeah try what puscle said.. basically you need to keep it from making other stuff vibrate that's what makes the loud noise.. the sound from just the air pump running should most definitely not be able to be heard from inside a cooler, inside a closet if it is just the sound from the pump running.. if so then i suggest making it a point to play music when ppl come over or just buy a less crappy pump

Just kidding, When I was using a air pump, I put it in a box wraped in a towel and cut 2 holes in the box, one for the air hose the other for the power cord, I had to be careful as to not kink the air hose with the towel though.
