picking shrooms from casing?!

so i've got this casing kicking arse! there are literally dozens of growths somewhere in between what i would call a pin and a small mushroom. the problem is that there are also 2 or 3 (or 8 or 10!) big ones. What happens when the big ones start to tear their veils but if i gave all of the smaller ones a few more days i'd have literally double the total weight? Can i pick the big ones early and wait three or four days for the rest? Is it better to let the big ones go all the way through and open up? I know this allows them to use nutrients to grow without actually making any more fun stuff, but if it lets me get the rest of them so much bigger is it okay? I don't want to print these were the only two jars that made it from a bad batch of syringes, so i don't want any copies... thanks for any help!!

you can pick them as they mature, you don't need to harvest all at once. get em when the veil breaks or soon afterwards.

so is the idea of flushes more approximate than I thought? Is there some point at which I want to clear the casing of all shrooms, big and small, and start a new flush?

you should always attempt to harvest all at once... if there are a few really small that you wanna let grow it's all good, but just try 'n pick 'em all near the same time so the mycelium network will have time to re-establish itself :cool:

There is a good chance that the smaller ones won't get any bigger. You might be sacraficing your big daddies for nothing.

Id say pick the biggun's right before veil tears,, and scoop up littleun's as well, Just cause the small ones will growin mass, they may not grow in potency- try to harvest all at once- Its the safest way..or so I hear!

i just pick them when the veil breaks, if there is small ones, i just leave them till they get bigger, or there veil breaks, but i don't get flushes as such, just over a period of 2 weeks, i pick a few shrooms off every day or so. Not what teh teks say, but what do they know ;) haha

i am fairly new, but i have been picking mine as they mature, over a period of several days ad consider the flush over when no new pins appear and i have harvested all shrooms. they will let you know when they are done!

I spread my pickings usually over 2-3 days with the PF cakes. On day 1 of the harvest i'll pick perhaps 5-6 of the Huge ones in the morning, and then that night another 5-6 of the monsters, and usually the next day I'll clean off the cake and dunk it....... Don't really see a problem in spreading out the picking, just don't like the cake get to dry, just so that you can get the little ones a bit bigger....
