They shore R some purty mushrooms you found there,Cardboard. Did any of'em exhibit any bluing? I know stuntzii's don't always blue. It's dry as a bone down here in N.C. No rain for 7 weeks. I can't even find any bread mold. : ( doo

Has anyone here reviewed the stunzii as compared to a typical cube? Just wondering. Thanks

In what regard? Trip? Morphology? Dosage? All the above? Alan probably has the genetic sequence of both if that's what you're looking for. I haven't found enough stuntzii personally to eat. Just enough for my herbarium.
I'm not sure how line up in the family tree either. There's probably a name for it. If I knew what I was talking about I would tell ya.
Oh yea this thread is really old. You should check out some of the official active threads

Phylogenetic tree. You can generate them through genbank, but it is better to download the sequences you want to make a tree out of, vet and clean them up, and use a program like mafft.
Two of my friends in Mexico just got doctorate degrees in biology and do a lot of DNA work, they use the following software for their analysis:
PhyDE for editing TnT - Tree Analysis using new technology RAxML - Maximum likelihood trees
I just did a quick three gene analysis and found that P. stuntzii is in section semilanceateae, close to P. cyanescens and P. pelliculosa. P. ovoideocystidiata is close to cubensis. Appears as though the annulus evolved separately at least twice in Psilocybe.

I am mostly interested in dosage and trip. I have seen a few grow logs that were informative but no trip reports.
