I was wondering how do you return a keg?
Do you need papers to return it?
Can you return it without the paper?
Can you sell then to a metal yard?
So straight forward and serious...

In NY, you need papers to return it.Most scrap yards will take anything...aluminum = 50 some cents a pound. If it was a copper keg, you'd get better than a dollar/lb.

Empty kegs are fairly light, one person can carry an empty keg. When it has liquid in it, it is usually a 2 person job.
Depending on where you live you will need papers to turn a keg in.
Claiming to invent keg stands is pretty lame. People have been taking keg stands for decades, centuries, and perhaps even millenia.
Also, food is lame. Fridges have one purpose in my opinion.
In loving memory of Thomas . The way you led your life gives me strength to live mine. Thank you for being such a wonderful soul. I'll see you when I get to the big kegger in the sky.

To return a keg you just bring it back. I've taken kegs back underage and gotten the deposit. I live in a small podunk redneck whitetrash peckerwood town, though. I see no danger in doing this if, as I assume, you are underage. Of course, your keg can be made into a still if you so desire.

lol, i thought you were being serious. dry humor is the best but gets lost on the internet, as well as in real life at times.
empty kegs weigh more than 20 lbs. in my experience i would guage them to be about 35-40 lbs. depending on material...they use black rubber now sometimes instead of the metal.

If I were to take them to a scrap yard, how would they judge how many
pounds of aluminum is in a keg?
Or would they just weigh it and fork over t3h cash?

zippoz has is down perfectly. whenever you need a fresh keg, bring in that old one and only pay for the beer instead of the deposit on the keg.

Yeah, keep it. I can think of so many great things to do with a keg. I could even fill it with beer!
