"how are inebriants tools for higher awarness?
where is the the higher ground?"

Well this inebriant tool in my practice is taken very seriously. Psychedelic Zen is for people who get through many reincarnations/rotations in the karmic wheel, thats why it is taken so seriously. It is a serious part of the Dharma wheel. In fact its where the Dharma wheel ends. There is no prespect in the Dharma wheel about inebriates in psychedelic Zen.

This a big thing here.
Maya devised a physical object that would cause sudden realization. Its almost impossible too explian. You can only dose the drug and change yourself. I can only be here so I can convince you.
I personally do not think nirvana exists. But only realization in an infinite form.

Why tip toe up the mountain when you can take the escaltor? Inebriate tools are used for ego death/loss.

The first Buddha comes to me every time and tells me how important it is too share my wisdom with everyone about inebriate tools. So this is my Dharmic mission, is too spread the information that inebriate tools are a light not a darkness.

sorry to jump on you for this
i don't beleive they are darkness. but if it were to work with ego death/loss how come everybody here that has taken it still have an ego?

one can change themselve greatly without drugs...so there really is no difference between taking and being sober.
somebody here i think it was hue not to sure says drugs can show you the way but are not THE way.

So what is the exact disagreement of this thread? How could it be summarized?

Is it that psychedelics are not,by themselves, life changing ,inspiring or even awakening?

Or is it that psychedelics COULD NOT BElife changing ,inspiring or even awakening?

(The first statement denies them any innate ability on producing these effects, the second one denies them any ability on producing these effects ON THEIR OWN)

the point of every thread is that somebody agrees, somebody disagrees, some beleive some don't, all different perceptions clashing, so take what you will from it.

if enlightenment is simply realization of the self beyond the ego and drugs can help loosen the ego, why can't they be a catalyst to enlightenment? isn't egoloss, egoloss regardless of how it is acheived? or is it necessary to have a clear mind in order to hold onto it? i feel that ethnogens have shown  me incredibly things and they have certainly had a lingering affect on my everyday awareness. however i am not fully enlightened so i'm not qualified to say whether or not they hinder you on the path.

Psychedelics and Buddhism are only tools.  I know plenty Buddhists. Like I said my town is full of them, and they seem to be totally full of themselves. I haven't met one that I would call enlightened and yet that's all they talk about. Some of them are friends of mine and we hang out. I know plenty of psychedelic users in the same boat. But I personally know one who is one of the two closest beings I know to my definition of that elusive term "enlightened". The other one uses no drugs and is a psychology major and posts on these forums. So go figure.  :mushroom2:

I have a simple view on drugs in general. They are for pain and healing. If spirituality falls into one of those then they are good tools. If not then they aren't.

I don't know anyone who has chosen the spiritial path that didn't do it because they weren't in pain of some kind, and that didn't need healing of some kind, drugs or not.  :mushroom2:

I hope that came out right.
