We're doomed

I think we've got another one hundred, two hundred years tops, living the kind of lifestyle we're accustomed to in the West. It's been 10,000 years of climate stability since the last ice age, and that's all that has allowed us to develop so much. What with global warming (I know that Bush doesn't really think it exists but trust me) and a possible unforseen large-scale natural disaster (we're well overdue one of these) the fragility of our society will be exposed. I reckon there'll be large scale destruction and exctinction; I think humans will survive but we'll be cut to a very small number. Think of that: having to rebuild a culture and world with initiallty no electricity, no modern technology, having to go back to basic ways of existance that most people have forgotten. Will this retrigger large-scale spirituality? Maybe it's just what our race needs in the long-term. It's crazy to think we could be hitting a peak and for the next few thousand years it's all gonna be built back from scratch. Imagine what we'll be like as a race in 5,000 years? Extinct or very very different, that's what I think.

the select few already are prepared...large complexes that are self sufficient all the conveniences...years of food.

the only thing a large scale natural or unnatural disaster will do is weak the masses therefore making it easier for world dominance for the ones who control
