who cares if you are around when shit goes down. who the hell are you? you are just as much a part of this as any living thing on the planet. you are gonna die one day. and then everything you are will wash back into the cycle and become somthing new. and that somthing will have to deal with it.

How will we grow when all which is needed to grow is gone and destroyed. Yes, we are becoming more aware of what's going on, but very little is being done about it. That's why I started this thread, I know it's old news but since we've discovered this nothing is in the works to fix it. It's getting worse by the day and people are just laughing it off.

It seems like the more aware we are becoming the more we realize that what we've done cannot be undone and now we are stuck continuing the cycle of destruction. We are capable of so much, but with the attitude of the general public I don't think there's much hope for us as a species.

Yes, when we become extinct it will suck, but it certainly won't suck for the rest of the life that has managed to survive.  I imagine the rest of the life will all join in a huge giant celebration once we become extinct.

Yeah I agree. Nothing I can do about it will change shit. I'm a drop in an ocean. It's not me alone crashing on beachs, eroding away boulders. I'm just living my life the way I feel best to help me and my kids like everyone else. To some that means the environment, to others that means money and the security they believe that brings.

Like All Creatures we want whats best for our kids, our genes and our immortality in them. other peoples kids and other species take the back seat.

What is the problem with losing species? Most of those species have never and will never exist for me because they are not even known or live with very few(always did) under very specific conditions in small parts around the equator.

Some estimates say that we have only classified 2-20% of all species on earth.

It might be a loss from a biologist interest point of view, but there will be thousands and thousands of species left to study.

Some animals and plants are very cool to see, many people like ngc documentaries and for that purpose(=entertaining humans) it is good that we preserve some species. Let's document as many as possible and preserve some amazing animals, but let other extinct in peace. No problem for me.

Edit: A loss could also be that we will lose some natural drugs....  :shocked: Much effort should be put into documenting everything as fast as possible.

Wait, why is it a problem again if humans go extinct?

I highly doubt I will care when the time comes. So far the fate of all species has been extinction, anyway. Why should we be any different?

cus so far we have shown to be very different.
your right if we do die. no big loss. life in all its many forms all across infinity will still cary on. but we have a choice. we are the only animals with a choice. thinbk abnout what we are capable of. the comunication. the food production. the energy transformation. we have advanced far beyond the relm of the normal organism. now we can either die and let mushrooms grow over or scattered corpses. or transend to become some new neo-gaurdion species or some other love dovey hippy bull-jive. point is you have to fucking try. if your not gonna you should just go of and feed yourself to a bear. then at leased you are helping someone who needs it :tongue:
