Yes, we're not in Kansas anymore. In fact we're in the Australian Outback, approximately 24 millions years ago, and land and time dominated by all manner of strange and bizarre mega-fauna.
A team of researchers from the University of New South Wales working in the eastern state of Queensland has made some very exciting, albeit bizarre, discoveries in three new fossil deposits during a recent two-week dig. "There are literally, probably in the order of about 500 extinct creatures in these rocks," Professor Mike Archer said.
Among the former mega-fauna are: a saber-toothed flesh-eating kangaroo, marsupial lions, and a giant 10-foot-tall, 881-pound bird scientists nicknamed the "demon duck of doom."
However, most disconcerting of these discoveries has to be that of a tree-climbing crocodile. If you don't see how this can lead to a scary scenario, let me set the stage for you:
Imagine you're taking a walk in the forest with your girlfriend. Maybe you've brought a little picnic lunch with you. You might even be planning on proposing matrimony. So there the two of you are; you've spread out the blanket and the picnic fixins, and you're lazing after a nice lunch and a little wine; you roll-over onto one knee, look her deeply in the eye, and prepare to propose marriage, when all of the sudden... WHAM! BLAMO! SPLAT!!!
GIANT CROCODILES ARE POUNCING ON YOU FROM HIGH UP IN THE TREES!
And we think we have it hard with our terrorists, rolling brownouts, and tax collectors...

That painted such a wonderful picture.
Like moniters when they are young they spend their lifes up in trees. I could totaly see a crocodilian like lizard lying in waite for a perfect ambush from atop a tree branch.
