anyone want to go backpacking

So I made this thread, because like.. I'm doing a lot of travelling. looking for any potential travel friends or somebody(s) who just want to go camping and hiking or whatever. I dont have any real friends that do a lot of backpacking.. and I recently got some new gear. So if you like adventures, let me know.. because adventures kick ass. And I'd like to do part of the appalachian trail, or anyplace cool.

i've hiked the very bottom of the trail a few times....

i don't think i could get out west yet....

when i live there,maybe,haha....

I'd definately swing by and pick you up to do some traveling if I wasn't so damn beat from my past two months of traveling. I just want to go home now.

I was thinking Virginia, since that's where I grew up and want to go back there sometime soon to visit friends.. but really anywhere

i was going to do a thu-hike of the AT,i'd stop in VT,i have an uncle there i could stay with...

but i had no one to go with me,and that shit's expensive....

it's some amazing trails....

i got a hole basment full of climbing gear....

it's mainly the food/other shit that get's you....

most people spend like 2-=3 grand and that's on the cheap....

i can't do that shit.....way to much $....

shit you could spend 2k easy on a thru hike if you buy all that fancy freeze dried food and shit.. I'd bring my own and dehydrate my own... much much much much cheaper.

But I got all the gear.. just need a smaller tent. Damn my tent takes up way too much room in my pack.

Yeah, that's cool man. I might be moving to Georgia in a couple weeks. I personally don't have a drivers license but I'm sure a buddy of mine would be interested...he browses the Shroomery but I don't think he posts often. But it would definitely be awesome.

Because like you said Shroomism, Backpacking kicks ass :laugh:

my "Travel-by-foot" tent in tiny,it's a little army surplus,single person deal....

i rolls down ,to like half of one of those therma-rest....

surplus is the way to go...

I saw a nice 2 man tent at the surplus store.. total size in the bag with everything was about the size of those therma rests (inflatable) rolled up... fucker was $300 though

i think i spent like 90 something on mine....

and it has a removeable fly in all....

and you "can" fit two people,in the right "situation".....

it was a steal......

no ,half kinda....it rolls up over the top half and clips in or somthinglike that,i think i've only used it once....

but i've had it for maybe a year,and it's been used maybe 10-15 times....with a kinds of drunkin' abuse.,and it still holds well...

it has a small tear(a seem),but i got some duck tape on it....
