Best Drying Method

Want cracker dry shrooms just hours after they are harvested? You can!... GO out and get some silica crystals... try and get the lager chunks rather than the finer grade. Then bake it in the oven for about 25 minutes at 350 C Then remove and put on the bottom of you drying chamber. Throw your fruits in there and cover the chamber airtight. The longest it takes me to dry is like 12 hours.. that was about 40 shrooms all bone dry.. the less shrooms the shorter the time..
And btw. unlike regular dessicant.. there is no need to make a little reservoir under the crystals, as they absorb the moisture directly into the pores of the crystals.. just lay em right onto the bottom of the drying area.

dunno. i got mine at the local supermarket.. check in the pet aisle.. it is also used as a substitute to cat litter sometimes.

If you just keep your eyes open, silica gel will come your way. I managed to get three fat packets of the stuff when my computer was delivered - they were wrapped in the packaging. Silica gel is sometimes also put in shoeboxes when you buy shoes, or in boxes of christmas lights and other packaging... keep an eye out.

Optical Trip,

Yes, you can reuse them over and over. They are sold on stores that sells products for cameras, leans, films, etc.
There is a variety that is blue, when it is full of humidity it turns pink. Then you bake it at the oven for a few minutes, and they become dry and turn blue again.

yeah I heard you can get them for free at a harley davidson store because huge bags are shipped with there bikes. Normally I guess they just throw them away.

i get this cat litter that has blue balls(sounds bad) the size of erasers and wen my cat pisses on em they turn big n yellow, sometimes pink(wutever my cat feels liek pissing) . I thinkill give it a try.. hmm

Are you placeing the shrooms to be dried on top of the crystals directly or are you using a screen ???
