Anyone like to talk with strangers?

I want to learn how to talk with strangers... if it's even possible to 'learn' such a thing.  :crazy:

One of the things I've always wanted is to be able to sit down with ANYone and have a conversation with them...
probably because it's the ability I find most elusive. :shake:

Typically I'm more reserved around people I don't know, and it's frustrating, because I want to COMMUNICATE with them, and not just on the internet!

Anyone here 'good' at talking with strangers?  :crazy2:

I've al ways felt a bit shy around strangers, but when the time comes to actaully have a conversation with them, for some reason I never have any trouble. Not that that really has much chance of helping you but just my two cents

the way to start a conversation with them, is to jump into there conversation they r having with someone else. gotta know wut to say and when to say it.

I've become a hell of a bullshitter, I can strike up conversations about anything. It's a trait I had to perfect at work, because the longer I bullshit with a customer, the less real work I have to do

Sometimes my bullshitting ability will actually work against me, if I strike up too long a conversation, and begin looking for an out. That's the worst, when you bullshit with someone that you don't really want to talk to for that long, and then they don't shut up.

here is a quote in my own words, who said this first, im not sure, but its something ive tried to follow since i heard it....

"Its easier to make a friend, by being interested in them, rather making them interested about you"

So just be interested in whatever the stranger has to offer, weather it be a convo about cars, or the weather, or whatever....... be honest, ive found that if you find out someone likes to..... (thinks) rock climb, and i say, ive never rock climbed before, the rock climber has 2 hours of convorsation to offer, and is more then happy to discuss rock climbing... *thats just an example, see what im saying tho*

Keep an open mind, and they will come :0

Find a subject that you think will directly relate to the person, then basically feed random nods and questions that seem as if you're interested, then do a token laugh or smile/nod.

Booom thats not communication though, thats just making someone feel as if youre interested... admaist is interested in actually communcating ideas, feelings, experiences with someone.

he first has to get over the basic fear that they will not want to listen to him...

because when it comes down to it, if they dont its nothing to take personal...  ive met some of the most amazing people by just carrying around a lighter (i dont smoke) but if i see someone pulling out siggarettes, i just que up my lighter, the next thing i know, there thainking me, or asking me why i do that, and i simnply say, to meet more people, or to have conversation.

the art of conversation starts simple, especially with strangers!

you can do eet adamist, you wont regret asking someone there name, what is the harm?

Yeah that's what I figured... Same principle though, once ya get the ball rolling. Just start talking, Adamist. What's the worst that'll happen? You'll never see this person again (most likely)
