F*CK FIREFOX!

My comp was crashing all the time, especially when I was using tmpgenc to convert movies I'd downloaded, so I wiped my hard drive clean and did a fresh installation.

Downloaded Firefox and started using tmpgenc again and got the same damn problem, pc freezing.

Uninstaled Firefox and moved to opera, now everythings fine.

Fuck Firefox  :mad2:

I must concur.....IMO the problem resides with perhaps another program that is cooperative with FF. I have used them all, and FF is my preference...but ya know...you can't go wrong with Opera either man. Enjoy.

have you done a spy ware check or virus check??..downloading shit causes lots of spyware and shit. I never have problems either firefox..in fact firefox is the one I use.. it rocks!!...internet explorer causes virusus and spyware a lot too..

I totally wiped my hard drive, re-installed xp and downloaded the latest copy of firefox and tmpgenc, haven't installed any other software yet whatsoever.

It's definitely Firefox that's causing the problems.

My computer crashes sometimes when I'm encoding with tmpgenc and I have Firefox too. But it used to do it before I had Firefox so I don't think that's the problem.

Just un-installed opera and am now trying the avant browser, seems more user friendly than opera.

Tomorrow I'll re-install the latest version of firefox and I'll bet any money my pc will start crashing again.

My pc was crashing every half hour without even using tmpgenc, it was when I was browsing with firefox.

It crashed within a few minutes when using tempgenc.

No problems whatsoever with either opera or avant  :smirk:  :thumbup:

I worked in tech support long enough to know that the more sure an end user is about what the cause of his problem is, the more likely he is to be dead wrong.

I've never heard of Firefox causing problems like that before.


Ever think that maybe tmpgenc might be the problem?

I exclusively use firefox - I actually downloaded tmpgenc a few months ago when I was fucking with some .avis I have. I just test running firefox and tmpgenc at the same time - no crash - everything worked just fine.

it's your computer - maybe you have a corrupt firefox profile - delete and start over.

oh, and avant = internet explorer.

internet explorer causes a lot of problems in general..what I have heard even my dad tells me that and he deals with computers all the time..in fact that it is primary job(s)

It was crashing before I even installed tmpgenc.

I reformatted my hdd, installed the latest version of firefox and tmpgenc and whadya know, same problem!

Works just fine with other browsers.

I've worked many years in tech support too!

Done that over and over along with re-formatting, no good!

Its a shame, I liked firefox.

there are hidden viruses that the most recent anti spy ware programs that cannot get rid of,,,I guarantee that most people in here have hidden spyware that the spyware programs cant get rid of...I still have my computer..act crazy every once in a while..but it is because I downloaded a lot of songs off of sites lately..
I know I have hidden spyware all the time, i bet there are hidden viruses,,that they cannot detect or get rid of as well..
