Toshiba ODD-DVD SD-R5272

I installed this USB DVD Burner to my PC several weeks ago and have had a devil of a time getting it to work. It was sold to me as a Pacific Digital DVD Burner, but Toshiba manufactures the "guts". If any of you have experience with this drive I'd like to know what brand of blank media you've had the most success using with it. Whenever I try to burn a DVD it errors and aborts before completion. I believe this is caused by a compatability problem with certain brands of media. I'm spent too much $ and time trying different brands, only to have them fail. I tried contacting Toshiba for information; no dice.

You shouldn't be having all those problems with so many different media brands.

RMA the drive and get a new one, it's most likely busted.

Right you are. I described the problem to a Pacific Digital tech and he said to send it back; they'd ship me a new one.
