Nope. I was waith some buddys one night and they were convinced they found marijuana because it smelled a bit like it, even though they had red stems and thorns on it. I couldn't convince them they were completly wrong.....

I remember someone posted in the Pub some months ago, maybe even a year ago, that they had stumbled upon some plants growing and plucked nugs off of one of them...they got bitched out big time cause they had plucked immature unsmokable stuff anyway, and also because the farmer would probably have to destroy the entire crop early because he'd notice it was broken into..

Yes, actually, quite a few times!

The town I used to live in had a BIG "problem" with people growing small patches of bud in the corn fields surrounding the town.

There were so many patches during some summers that you could basically pick any big corn field and would be almost guaranteed to find a small patch of bud! There was something of an unspoken/unwritten rule that if you DID stumble upon a patch and it happened to be ripe...you could take a few buds for yourself but leave everything else.

There was one summer where a friend and I didn't BUY any pot all summer! Just took a weekly trip to the fields to stock up

But that only permitted other men with machines to enslave them.

Me and a friend stumbled upon a grow whilst bushwacking around Unicoi mountain. Considering the reputation of people from that area, we got the hell out of there, FAST!

How many plants were there? How much was it all worth would you say? What is the reputation of these people?

How many? Well we didn't really waste time counting them, but they filled an area of about 25 feet by 30, I would guess. The people around that area have a long history of moonshining, smuggling and being a refuge for escaped and/or wanted criminals, it being so isolated and all. People have been known to "disappear" there from time to time....

i was serious except for the fact i smoked it all. i couldn't have, cuz all the plants were fertilized and had seeds.

this year, i'm going to try to change that though.

I remember that thread, the kid who posted it just got his ass ripped in two by you guys! lol

But yeah, a grower friend of mine told me if I'm not looking for, but stumble across mature plants then I may as well pinch some bud. Nothing that's going to tarnish my karma, but if they're dumb enough to have budding fruits where any runner could narc, I may as well take some smoke. Nothing more than you could hold in your hand.
And I think I'd take a quarter oz of wet bud so that I've got a couple dried grams to see what they're packin.

If it was a personal stash of a couple plants, under 10 or whatever I'd maybe pick a popcorn bud off of it and just smell it or whatever. But if I stumble across a field I'd definitely snag a little, because clearly they're growing out of greed and have intent to sell large amounts. This is british columbia so I don't think that many people have to grow that much pot to supply themselves for the year. I'd only take as much as I'd want/let someone take from my personal grow if I had plants before gettin pissed off.

Yes. I promptly got out of there careful to not make a trail. The grower had bear traps around some of his old abandoned plots.

Animal traps and shotguns scare the shit out of me. I'd hate to be walking though some bushes and all of the sudden have razors ran down my face because some violent fucking druggy's trying to hide his dope.

If I ran into shit like that I'd quickly leave of course, but I'd be on my celly to make sure the cops get right the fuck there to deal with it. My mom's friend sliced her arm on some razor wire when she was running on a trial, and turns out some fuck ass was growing dope somewhere incredibly close to a highly populated trail... I hope the cops beat his ass with billy clubs.

If I stumbled upon a patch I might take a bud or 2 off the plant if it was mature carefully clipping it to not hurt the plant. I wouldnt rip them off though that's for sure. I know how I would feel if somebody did it to me.

Now.. If I was just hiking through the woods and stepped into a trap without actually seeing any plants I would know what was close by and I wouldnt leave the woods until finding the plants and uprooting them.

well, we have wild rope-a-dope growing around here...

I have found a few plants growing wild before, that looked well cared for. I left those alone cause there was only a few. If I found a large outcrop of it, I might take a bud or two, but I would never level a guys field. That is ethically wrong. One little pipe full to smoke wont hurt anyone.
