Well if you live in the Uk you may have seen that program that has been on just now - Panorama, it was a Cannabis information program, linking it to psychosis.

Well my mum knows i smoke weed occasionally and has just had an emotional chat with us about it. You see my dad's schizophrenic so granted she's worried...  :frown:

Well long story short i've given her my word i won't smoke any more... And i aim to stick my that  :thumbup:

I happened to mention that MDMA :pill: and Mushrooms :mushroom2: were fun though and that i'd still do them...  :rolleyes: I sure know how to reassure her lol

(Sorry if any of you arent that interested i just wanted to tell the pub)

Wouldn't mushrooms put you more at risk for a psychotic episode than pot?

Plus i think your born with schizophrenia, drugs can possible only trigger it. So the folk who say "weed caused my son to develop schizophrenia" arent exactly accurate. It was the straw that broke the camels back as they say...

Indeed, I have heard this too. If you have it you have it, drugs and extremely emotional experiences can trigger episodes.

I saw Panorama as well.

They said schizophrenia in London alone has doubled since the sixties.

Kinda makes you think.

Hahah she is worried about pot causing skitzo but is ok with mushrooms. Are you for real???? Id says mushrooms have a much much higher chance of inducing a psychosis of some sort.

Too difficult to read into that, treatment and awareness have certainly improved tremendously since the 60's as well. Many, many mental illness diagnoses have increased because we're becoming more aware of the problem.


I'm not really sold either way, mainly because the amount of unbiased parties who are also looking to do research on marijuana is minimal.

I would be careful about using mushrooms with a family history of schizophrenia. There could be some problems there.

mushrooms shouldn't be taken by people that have mental conditions.

pot on the other hand...makes them chill.

Don't think i havn't read up about mushrooms + mdma, regarding pychosis because i have. But i've said i'd give up weed as it would put her mind more at rest. As for the MDMA and Shrooms i couldn't lie and say "okay doke i give up all things that are bad for me" isn't in my nature, i'd rather be honest and tell her.

Anybody else here told their parents about drugs??  :confused:
