drugs and psychosis

I used to take a fair bit of shrooms and it was over a year ago that I had a bit of a psychotic episode where I would think that the music I listened to was written about me and that when you listen to music it is like an exchange of energy between the musician and the listener.

I also thought that there was subliminal messages on the news on TV and stuff.
I was very paranoid too and depressed.
I even attempted suicide by taking an overdose of pills but just ended up sleeping in a hospital bed for 2 days.

But, this psychotic episode probably began at least 2 months after my last mushroom trip, do you think it could still be related to my psychedelic use?
I had suffered from depression on and off for a long time before this episode....



P.S I would never take psychedelics again anyway, since it would be foolish to put my mind in risk.

you can have a psychotic episode without having schizophrenia

no one could possibly tell you if it's related to drug use for sure. but it's a wise idea to stay away from drugs in the future like you already said:thumbup:

There are subliminal messages everywhere, especially on TV. This is not paranoia its a well established fact.

If you thought the messages were personal (directed specifically at you) then yes this is probably delusion. Its natural to question reality - just dont make conclusions stay open-minded to all posability.

Almost definately. I have a friend undergoing treatment for the same thing. His was triggered by MJ though.

i think we all battle a little bit of psychosis don't we? i mean, what "is" reality exactly?

you can't define it. but nonetheless, it's there, and it's here to stay.

if you smoke weed, it can bring back the feelings and thoughts.

i had to drop it because of much psych use.

Regardless of what everyone else is saying, with symptms similar to that, including reoccuring depression and attempted suicide, you really should seek professional advice.

Definately stay away from drugs.

i have read that nootropics balance out the negatives of psychedelic use. good for integration. it's like you've experienced so much different information, your mind needs to understand what is going on and your awareness needs to transcend beyond it so you can take control of your reality.

i recommened piracetam, alpha-gcp, oxiracetam, phenibut (all combined) - take phenibut 3-4 times a week because of tolerance build up.

also - fish oil with high epa, bacopa, ginkgo bobilla, rhodiola rosea, saint johns wart

the thing with nootropics is, when you stop taking them there is no withdrawal or addiction whatsoever. use them until you have understood what has happened to you. or you can continue your use if you wish to to expand further. after 30 or so years of testing, all results have been positive. nanobrain at bluelight/erowid, and LifeMirage at Brainmeta can back this up with good information.
