I'm in SW Florida and picked these yesterday. I have been studying this site and bought the book Psilicybin Mushrroms of the world yesterday and read the book twice last night. I'm not new to hunting, I just haven't done it in about 15 yrs. and then I did it in TN. I decided two days ago that I wanted to start and found these last night with a friend . I would greatly appreciate a response because I believe the big ones are it and am waiting to take them. The person I went with yesterday said these were the type she had always eaten. Any way I would like someone from this forum to help me before I begin.
I will do my best to describe
Habitat--- cow manured pasture in dung and around in wet pastures
The larger one have golden caps and light purple gills ( I don't know if they were attached ) I am confused on that one. the small ones were brown caps and darker gills . I saw no blue when picking either one.
The large yellow ones spore sprint are shown and in person it was a dark purple.
The smaller brown ones spore print was black. If you need more information let me know. I will be checking this msg brd frequently.
Also, both species caps and gels have that seperating thing.
I hope help is on the way because I really want to take them but you' guys I have gotten me scared and I sure would not enjoy them.
I looked at the photos in your other post and they do 'look' like cubensis, but you really need to get a closer picture to make sure. Very dark purple to black sporeprints are also an indicator of a psilocybe mushroom. RR
