I have never patched any of my casings using the Double or Single Tub teks. Now my pin-set isn't perfect, which is due to my casing technique, but my flushes are monstrous.

Induce light and use an indirect fan in the room. Walk away from the tub until you are ready for harvest. That's it. No overlay will occur. I promise you.

Cold shocking is a completely unnecessary step. I have never cold shocked any of my casings and they pin very quickly using the Single/Double Tub teks. I usually have pins within 5-7 days of casing.

The temps can easily be taken care of by simply leaving the tubs in a room that has temps between 68-75 degrees. You do not need to monitor the temps. As long as you avoid direct sunlight and/or leaving the tub in a room that gets an excessive3 amount of heat, you have no worries. Trust me, I know.

This tek is a whole other animal. The environment created using this tek creates the perfect eco system. No intervention is required on your part after casing. Walk away from the tub until harvest.

They probably have lower Rh and did their temps correctly, which would explain how the myc. would go from veg. to primordial growth.

Southpark-

I'm doing 2 setups close to yours.  1 Double and 1 Mono Tub. Both started pinning MADLY within the past 36 hours.  Just spawn, then let the spawn run go in dark... and then add casing layer, and wait a day or so in the dark.. then chuck in the light.  I also promise, no overlay!!!! It's my first time... and it's working out well.  With the Mono Tub, I spawned & cased at the same time and waited about 7 days for the spawn run to finish.. didn't patch at all, then hucked in the light.

Good luck on your project, it's really easier than you're making it out to be.  Like the Ronco guy says....

spawn it, let colonize 100% (spawn run), then case, re incubate for a couple of days and then fruit.

im on my first set of casing now (3 of them) i cold shocked 2 out of the 3 and then put them in the fruiting chamber at the same time.. the one i didnt cold shock is going way slower than the other two thats why i said to cold shock them.. (if posible due to containor size) i know it varies from strain to strain.. but i was just throwing out my 2 cents:) a question about coldshocking.. if your doing the single/double terrerium setup like this and u plan on casing the whole bottom of the container, could u cold shock your spawn jars before u cased them or would that stunt the proces of the mycilum penetrating the casing layer??
