You should try introducing him to Gnosticism and the Gospel of Thomas if he's into Christianity, maybe it'll inspire him to find his true Self rather than following the church.

Yes, it's definately possible, some of the most religious experiences of my life occured while on LSD....I got faith in a higher power during my first trip. If he says it's not the acid, my guess is that it really was the acid trip.....and it went very deep, very personal, and perhaps terrifying, and he just doesn't want to talk about it. As long as he's happy.... :tongue2:

Welll, according to the Christian dogma, believers must be born again. All of them. So, in saying this, you are also saying that all Christians are bad. I don't believe that and I think that you are being a little harsh in your statement. Look at the Rev. Billy Graham. He has done alot for this world in which we live. I will not go to far into this whole subject, but I know that there are some decent people out there that are Christians. Every group has it's demons, because we are human and prone to corruption.

Funny... I always thought Billy Graham was a money grubbing tool of the system...

You shouldn't think too much, then. He is a great person with a good mind and a strong faith.

Perhaps I have him confused with somone. Isn't he one of the TV evangelists that "heals" people?

By the way, I meant no ill will in what I said.

It's just that if I recall he was publicly caught lying on tape about anti-semetic remarks he made to Nixon in the 70's. As well as the fact that he get's paid a hefty salary for his "spiritual work"...

But in all seriousness, there was no hate in my words so if I offended you then I apologize.

He is an evangelist, but he does no "healing" on any sort. You might be thinking of Benny Hinn. He is a joke evangelist that does the whole touching/pushing on the peoples' foreheads that "heal" the people of various maladies and they fall out on the ground and claim that they are healed from the demons that inflict us with PAIN!!!lol That guy is a douche bag.

Billy Graham is more of a teacher than anything else.

Plus I may have been a little harsh in saying that you shouldn't think. I get carried away sometimes. Sorry.

ou took a trip
and climbed a tree
at Robert Sledge's party

and there you stayed
'till morning came
and you were not the same after that

you gave your life
to Jesus Chirst
and after all your friends went home
you came down
you looked around

and you were not the same after that
and you were not the same after that
and you were not the same after that

you see them drop like flies
from the bright sunny skies
they come knocking at your door
with this look in their eyes
you got one good trick
and you're hanging on, your hanging on
to it

you took the word
and made it heard
and eased the people's pain after that

you were idolized
imortalized
and you were not the same after that

walking tall
you bought it all
and you were not the same after that
till someone died
on the waterslide
and you were not the same the same

you see them drop like flies
from the bright sunny skies
they come knocking at your door
with this look in their eyes
you got one good trick
and you're hanging on, you're hanging on
to it

I have spiritually profound trips every time I trip. I can't help it anymore. I just think it's strange that he has converted to Christianity. I guess you'd have to know this guy. You wouldn't think in a million years this guy would become Christian.

I might normally try and talk someone out of choosing a religion and steer them in the direction of seeing all things as "God". However, this guy might just need some direction. Who am I to knock his trip.

Hey, you never told me you have a band

Does this friend of yours still go to church? I'm curious as if it was just a phase... I know I have changed my spiritual/religious beliefs after a mushroom trip

I don't have a band anymore. This is an old thread. In fact, this guy isn't even my friend anymore. We finally realized that he isn't all there and that he isn't very smart either.

I was just playing around with the search function and stumbled onto the thread.  The lyrics are from Ben Folds - Not the Same, which is about a kid who takes acid at a party and climbs a tree, and stays up there after everyone else has gone home.  The next day he comes down and has become a born again christian.  cheers :sun:
