What does he care if some yokel in Alabama doesn't believe in evolution?  I'd rather have every person that DOESN'T believe in (read: understand) evolution send me $15 than change their viewpoint, n'est pas?

One of the best subjects. To examine what people believe and why and how it's similar here here and here, is just fun.

It's pitiful to me that some people's faith in god is so weak that they must ignore everything their eyes and hearts tell them in order for that god to remain valid. I have these talks with people anytime I can. Had one last night, matter of fact :lolsy:

People who know me know I'm a believer in God with some strong opinions about some of the more traditional views. While many believers in God see science as a threat I see science as proof.  Someone got pissed at me last night because I would not renounce evolution even though I will acknowledge that there is a missing link and that makes it still a theory At the same time I have to admit that as of now it's the most likely scenario of where we came from. IMO to flatly reject evolution and base that rejection solely on a story from an ancient book shows very little respect to God. This person was like 'well how does that happen in 7 days?' I had to smile because in my mind I'm thinkin, you done fucked up now, I'm bout to rock your world :lolsy: 

Before I type a bunch of shit that nobody wants to read, would you like to hear what I said back or are ya good?

I'm a spiritual person and I'm not sure if there is a god but this man is plainly taking advantage of people and is spouting plainly ignorant ideas.

I'm all for freedom of religion and I think people should be free to fallow there beliefs without persecution but this bigot would have any non-evangelists shot if he could. Hes the Hitler of Evangelism

I just thought of this. Lol, you never shoulda got me started, 2cents!

You know what it's like? To take the bible as the be all end all of everything and deny the evidence that the universe is closer to 14 billion years old and not 6000 years old? It's like your kid wanting to learn about the planets so you buy them a childrens book. Then you buy them a telescope then you buy them an all expenses paid round trip to Aricebo(msp?) and buy the whole place for a week so your kid can play with a big ass radio telescope. You do all that for your kid then you realize they never touched any of it besides the book. Now they are 40 years old still looking at that book and cursing the telescope because the spots the telescope shows on jupiter are not what the crayon drawings in the book show.

This is how I see people who close their eyes to everything science uncovers. People who see science and the things in front of their eyes as a threat to the extremely weak and feeble God they must believe in.
