I'm a student there, and I live in a nearby town. Apartments can be pretty expensive, depending on what you're comparing to. Pretty nice area though, all things considered. Do you have any specific questions?

Is there an "upper" community? I mean is there a rich part of town. ;P

How is crime (other than drugs)?

I can't think of any others I just wanted to get people opinions.

Cincinatti is a cool place, but I don't like going to Ohio. I just don't like anywhere else that I've been there. Never been to Kent State though.

Kent is not a rich town, it's mostly lower-mid class I think. The richer people are in Stow, the next town over to the West. Very little violent crime anywhere around here, as far as I know, no gangs or anything like that. The area from downtown to the university and in between can be prone to loud parties, drunkenness, and theft, like any other college town.

Kent is ok, just don't expect an overly interesting town though. On the bright side, it's not ghetto. It's average, and as was mentioned, crime is probably below average. You don't have to live in Kent to attend Kent State though, there are better options if you don't mind driving a few miles, like living in Streetsboro or some other towns nearby. I know the area and can help if you need it.
