BRF Jar just reached 100% colinization
    #4197810 - 05/19/05 11:04 PM (18 years, 10 months ago)

A few of my jars just became fully colonized thursday morning , how long should I wait before I place them in the fruiting chamber? By fully colonized I mean 100% of the surface area is covered with mycelium.

Thanks for any help

my BRF cakes sat around...christ maybe almost a week after they were done. they pinned very quickly after dunk&roll (3 days).

when i read the title of your thread i pictured someone sitting there staring at their cakes waiting for a small amount of substrate to colonize, and then suddenly standing up and screaming "YES IT'S DONE!"

I didn't wait very long after they colonized. The day they were fully colonized...I birthed them right away. I didn't dunk and roll with my first grow until the second flush....but they still had a decent sized flush.
I don't think you have to wait at all.

I used the half pint jars. I've never done any other sizes.

I'd give em a few days at least. Just increases pinning time if the center isn't done.

Colonizing was so fast , I most likely could have sat there and watched the last little part colonize. It went from having about two inches left to colonize with the mycelium closing in from both sides , to having a runner shoot accross the gap , to 100% done in I'd say under 12 hours. Though I am a horrible at estimating time , let's just say it was really fast.

It's been 100% covered for over 24 hours now , with it's growth rate I think the center may be done or very close to being done.

I just checked the humidity in my pod , and it seems to be at 91%. This is too low correct? Could it just be my hygrometer is inaccurate at high humidity , the walls are covered with condensation.

Thanks for the help
