Fruity Loops Dilemma

Hey, I know there are some wizards in here. Here's the sichy...

My harddrive crashed and I lost about 60 gigs of data. Luckily, i had a few things backed up, including my Fruity Loops 3.5 folder. Well, my system is back up and running, and I just downloaded and installed Fruity loops Studio 4.0.1 Producer Ed. The problem is, when I open my old fruity loops files, nearly all the voices in the step sequencer show up red, so the sounds aren't there or aren't loading. So the song will be playing but most all of it is silent.

IK suspect I need to download some sound packs or something. Another idea I considered is uninstalling FLStudio, then reinstalling my old FL3.5, then running FL Studio setup to see if it would ugrade and retain all the old sounds. Does anybody have any idea what might get me back on track?

Thanks, brother! The only thing I'm wondering now is, where do i save the files. Also, something is not right because even if i load a sound that came with FLStudio, i'm still getting silence. Half the sounds work but alot of them don't and that just doesn't make any sense.

more then likely you got a bad download . you will still need the dropped packs for your old stuff .it sucks i don't have FL on this computer so i can't remember right off hand the right place to put them ....but try to download it again you know they have 5.0.2

hmmm....yeah that's a good idea. I think i'll keep hunting for FL Studio 5.0? Otherwise all i'm looking at is SILENT NOISE FORMING SOUND LIKE SILENT NOISE. silent noise screaming hints
