I think your point was made, but to make a huge issue out of this one thread is not IMO helping anything.

If its a pattern of locking threads then sure, point the situations out and we can look at an overall issue. But there will be occassions a mod closes a thread that you may not agree with, in fact its inevitable because we don't always agree in everything we do.

My last comment ("This thread should be locked.") was a joke, I guess it wasn't obvious enough (online sarcasm sucks). Sorry, my humor can be wry and, I guess I didn't use enough emoticons...

Of course, if this thread keeps going in circles... I wouldn't fault an Admin for locking it.

Joshua, it is uncharacteristic of you to come into this forum and raise holy hell over something so minimal. It was just ONE locked thread. It hurt nobody (but you aparently). No matter how you cut it, you're STILL just complaining about ONE locked thread.

You'd think Swami was banned again or something (another joke :smile: ) !

It sounds like water under the bridge to me. Dan PMed the guy who had his thread locked... after their heated argument. And the guy who made the thread... STILL hasn't presented pics! In fact, it seems YOU are the only one offended by recent behavior... which is a little odd since it has been discussed into the ground, and Joshua, you are usually sensitive to such things.

Like I said in my first post, if you wish to ADD anything USEFUL to that LOCKED thread, POLITELY PM a Mod, and ask for it to be re-opened... or start a new thread.

Like Thor recently said... When it comes to locking threads in the Hunting Forum, it is better to err on the side of caution. That is what Dan did. There is NO doubt. And that is the only reason your argument looses any steam.

If you think The Shroomery prematurely locks a LOT of threads Joshua, perhaps you should spend some time OUTSIDE the Mushroom Forums. There's a great Man/Boy Love thread in S&P right now (true... but also a joke :tongue: ).

I find it strange how things work out sometimes. I think some coaching may have prevented what ultimately occured for the same reasons I brought up.

It's hard to say though.

Joshua do you not think that this thread has given that mod pause for future actions? Do you not think as admins we will have this thread to bring up if another issue comes up later down the road?

That is the whole purpose of this forums, suggestions, feedback..

We didn't feel the post should be re-opened, but we also saw your point and that was the whole purpose of a thread like this.

If your only goal was to open the thread, then I'm sorry but that is not going to happen. But hopefully it was more about bringing up a concern in regarding locking threads you felt shouldn't be locked.

If that was the case, mission accomplished.
