Your choice. I use a bit of H2O2 in the water to clean the surface and container. The amount isn't too important: it will be metabolized anyway after a few hours and approach zero concentration, unless you continuously add it or use a large volume to immerse your cake.
I do roughly 24 hours, based on what I've read. Works nicely.

so you immerse the entire casing in the water or are you just pouring water on it?

Is it important to dunk before the first flush or after?? Can it be dunked after each flush?? Is it TOTALLY advised to dunk / patch the casing after each flush.

personally, i didnt dunk it before the first in fear the casing would break up in the water, i think the mycellenium has created a strong enough layer where it wouldnt break up in the water after the first flush...

Yes a caseing can be dunked after each flush - it is not TOTALLY 100% advised by everyone - I personally would dunk every caseing I could, after each flush - add a nice complete patching layer then toss that puppy back in the inccubator for 48 hours.
My last caseing broke during first dunk. It miss-handled due to the large size of it. I have had almost equal results heavy misting large amounts of water before and after the post-flush patching layers. I mist untill there is a small layer of water, it drinks thats in a few min - I heavy mist again - it drinks slower - and I repeat till it wont drink anymore then patch and put back to bed.
Some might not do it that way, I havn't had anything but wonderful results with both dunking and heavy misting.

No expert, but yes, completely submerged to moisten the whole thing. I've found that casings that were approaching crunchy death under misting revived and produced nicely again.
