Will the truth about the origins of 4:20 ever be known?

okay so i got to thinking about where all this 4:20 stuff came from and did a bit of asking around today and a bit of checking stuff out on the internet and i dont think that there is an answer. i guess its just stoner folklore whose beginings will continue to be clouded by a shrowd of mystery. what do you guys think the story is with 4:20?

That is not true.  You can find out the REAL origins of 4/20 on Shroomery Radio tonite at 10pm EST.  :laugh:

Police code 420 means a hinderance of public land, BTW.

I just assumed it's when most people smoke 4:20pm that's when most people get outta work. Me and a friend have a simlar thing w/ 1:11am. Also 111 works better cause it comes around twice a year. June 11 and Nov 1.

I remember back awhile somtime, some guys tried to claim the 4/20 notoriety fame. The were old folk. They said they smoked pot before it was even really known. Like, we're talking 1950's here. They would call each other on the phone, and say "4:20" whenever they wanted to smoke weed. What it meant was that they would all meet at their school at 4:20PM and smoke weed.
