need help colonizing my rye grain

Hello to all:

I'm attepting to move a full jar of liquid mycelium to colonize jars of rye grain, but I'm having trouble doing so... I've tried three times w/o success, and it's frustrating. Many people reccomend boiling the grain or adding water... is this necessary? I'm just putting in dry organic rye - is this not a good idea? Also, does flour work better since it is broken up more? And if so, do I need to add water to it also? Thanks for the help,

I second that. I wasted my money on a M.M. kit too. You can get a much better setup for the money w/ a little research. Building your own gear can be fun and rewarding.
