if you look at jesus as a historical figure, his voice wasn't "stong and loud", he didn't rant or point his finger, or take a stand on every little thing. so unless maynard has some revolutionary historical accounts of jesus' personality, that song probably isn't directly about the man.

jesus claimed he was god according to the bible. thats a pretty bold statement. he accused everyone of being a sinner, and inherently evil. if thats not pointing a finger, i don't know what is.

on APC's last tour, a couple of friends and myself snuck a pretty fat blunt into the venue. it was outdoors and we didn't really have any problems. After smoking it, they played the hollow. billy's solo blew my fucking mind. that was the single most intensely beautiful moment of my life.

Mostly kidding, but the part you mentioned is kinda hard for me to make fit with the ego interpretation too.

Not necessarily dismissing it, it's just not as easy as the rest of the song.

well i came to my interpretation while I was high. I connected all the songs as one song, and all in all, it seemed (still does) quite about ego (which eventually gets "flushed away" in the Aenima song.)

I can't wait to go to my firs Tool show, I'll definatley be going to the tour that goes along with the new cd whenever it does come out.

I love how Tool lyrics also talk about psyhcdellics.
