Get THIS ONE if you can find it. Very easy to modify & can be filled without removing the top.

Damn, i just saw one of those at a thrift store when i was out of town, i should have bought it. But i took a peak inside and thought i saw an ultra sonic thingy in it. Is that a cool mist or an ultrasonic?

EDIT: My reply was to wrong person. No matter, coolmist is impeller driven.

COOLMIST... impeller driven
It is not an ultrasonic type.

This is the one you want or anyone that has the spinning impeller in it and not a wick type of system.
I like to hook it up like this

This is a Martha Stewert closet and hose set up.
in the box
I use the ultrasonic and cool mist. Very firm believer in air exchange.
In the exectrical Dept of the hardware store I find these. and on the ultrasonic Now on the back of the closet I cut the holes for the hose fittings and put tape over them and cut holes threw the tape for the fittings. The reason for the tape is to give the clostet plastic a little extra strength when holding the hose weight. The outlet for the ultrasonic goes above the cool mist outlet that way the mist from the ultrasonic drops into the airstream of the cool mist and mixes better.

Ok one concern i have with this particular humidifier. Make sure you allow enough air to flow out of it when its turned on. Makeing a hole in it and adding a 5/8" ID( Insided Diameter) tubeing and covering the main hole (Duct Tape) will not work. The pressure in the humidifier will build up and cause water to come out the sides where the top piece meets the tank. This equals spillage and leaking. You should have the same amount of air flowing out of the modified version as the original version. I couldnt figure out why the humidifier was leaking cause the tank would hold water while it was off. Lightbulb!! After watching the humidifier with the hose on it and the main hole covered for like 10 minutes i saw the problem.
The humdifier was fixed with another tube (5/8) (main hole covered) and it worked just fine.
I guess long story short when you modify the Humidifier use tubing bigger then 5/8" ( i belive magash uses 1 inch) or use multiple tubes (multiple chambers).
I hope that saves someone from having to go rent a god damn carpet shampoo..er to clean the mold out of their carpet.

I used 3/4 inch PVC. But choked air intake a bit, as I covered intake with 3 layers of high grade pre/filter material. Doesn't leak a drop & spins out air & mist like old faithfull.
