I just purchased two holmes ultrasonic coolmist humidifiers from ebay and wanted to know - how do i know they are working correctly?

its been on a couple of minutes now and there is no fog coming from it. If you look down the tube you can see the water slightly vibrating but no fog emission.

take the tank off and empty the bottom of all the standing water. Then replace the tank.

What else could cause this unit not to operate properly? It has been sitting for about 15 minutes running and still no fog. I emptied the bottom of water and cleaned it and then put the tank back on... it still isn't coughing it up.

cool mist, iirc, won't emit fog, mostly air
ultrasonic should be pretty moist air though

what are your needs?

any the bad news, that coolmist won't work for a martha type enclosure

u need an impeller type coolmist, GL

if its an untrasonic and you did what i said and it still dont work then i would say its broken.

Are you sure its the ultrasonic? The cool mist will not fog.

i have both an ultrasonic and a coolmist. I am currently trying to get the ultrasonic working. It still operates properly it just doesn't create any fog. The small metal piece inside it vibrates the water and all but no fog.
