I have never seen it used and I THINK the reason is the amonia would kill any growth. This is just a thought, I want to be clear that this is not a fact, just an opinion.

They don't grow in chicken shit in nature. But they do grow on cowshit, why don't you try that? I bet you will get better results!

i agree with u captain, i just thought about chicken stuff bcs its the only one readily avaliable down here...
i think it can be worth going down the coutry for some free (and maybe some already colonized?) manure...

the mushroom cultivator states that if used in a compost it can work. thats all i know.

and what you mean by compost? in my house we have a compostarium for organic matter... could it be useful? (dont think so, that seems a contamination heaven or something)

Well chicken shit is used making compost, It is added at about week 3 and again in week 4 it is used mainly for it's nitrogen content it helps the compost heat up as well as provides a little nutrients( I must warn anyone who would lie to attempt making compst it is a dirty smelly hard job and I can see why DB is charging so much.)
But like Anno I love this hobby and since it's a hobby I like to make it and charge less because I enjoy mushrooms
