Being Catholic, I will stand up for Pope John Paul II. What makes him a better man than everyone on this forum... hmm... speaks 7languages fluently, visited every country in the world, and saved thousands in World War 2. Read his biography before you make comments. Also, since most of you are obvisiously not Catholic, then why the hell do you care so much about wanting him dead. All that will happen is that another pope will be chosen. There is already a person in mind I hear.

you don't understand. What made the pope incredibly and awe-inspiring was not that he was a pope. It was that his particular character was impeccable. Like it or not, like his views or not, he was an inspiration, a symbol and incredibly strong. One stereotype that Polish people have picked up is that of incredible strength. John Paul 2 was a million times that.

You people who think little of others who have different opinions and act on them don't realize that the pope was not just a pope, he was a symbol of cultural strength. Poland saw him as itsfreedom; their hope, their salvation and their strength stemmed from him. I'm personally insulted ( and not just annoyed ) because I think something of culture. It has grown into me though I tried to escape it at many points. By insulting the pope you insult my culture, and I take full affront.

Think of it as stubborness or ignorance if you will, but it was a personal attack. If this happened in real life I would take it as direct harassment and strongly react in kind. In short : Fuck you.

I can't wait till I leave America- fucking land of worthless idiots.

It does seem like people are insulting things which are completely different from their own lifestyles. What the Pope did and symbolized is something totally different from who i am, and that's why I won't talk about him, I would be out of my element.
